Green and yellow marble cake.
Allow the pans to cool for 10 minutes then run an offset spatula around perimeter of the pan to separate the cake from the pan.
To make marble cake pour a box of yellow or white cake mix into a bowl and beat it with the sugar salt eggs vanilla fats milk and water for 2 minutes then stir in the flour.
When baking yellow cake use shiny pans which reflect heat.
So it all starts out the same.
Next put the cocoa sour cream and 1 cup of the batter in a separate bowl and mix it to make the chocolate batter.
Place the yellow cake over the green and spread the remaining 1 4 cup jam evenly over the top.
Bake for 34 37 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Try to create the lines using one continuous motion going up and down and then side to side.
Next time i will use salted butter again just not so much of it and double the salt add a little extra vanilla and no extra sugar.
Then spread the plain batter in a cake pan.
Repeat with the remaining two pans creating a green and yellow cake layer and a red and orange cake layer.
The chocolate batter is made from the yellow batter.
Place the pink layer on top then loosely wrap the cake in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
The yellow cake batter can also be left plain to make a traditional yellow layer cake.
Fill cake pans half full of batter.
A little extra vanilla or higher quality vanilla will round out the flavor as well.
Then pop the layers into the preheated oven for 34 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
My best yellow cake recipe calls for lots of eggs and butter as well but about double the salt.
Make sure you watch all the way to the end.

I am making a 6 cake and dont want to use 2 boxex of cake mix.
Tips for baking a perfect cake.
Dark pans and pans with nonstick coating absorb heat faster than shiny pans and can cause cakes to brown too quickly.
I was thinking using yellow cake mix and adding some coco to some of the batter to make the chocolate.
Has anyone done this.
